Suresh Raina “Lost Loyalty Of MS Dhoni” Says Simon Doull

The same day as Dhoni, Suresh Raina declared his international retirement. With 5,528 runs in 205 matches, he is the 4th highest run-scorer in the IPL.

For the first time, since the Indian Premier League (IPL) began in 2008, Suresh Raina shall not participate. Through the IPL 2022 auction, Mr. IPL, a member of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), went unsold.

Suresh Raina, who withdrew from the IPL 2020 season due to personal issues, returned in the 2021 league but could not perform. The left-hander had a difficult outing.

Former New Zealand cricketer Simon Doull told Cricbuzz that Raina had lost MS Dhoni’s trust and that this was the cause for his departure from the CSK camp. “There are two to three parts to it. He lost his loyalty in the UAE; we don’t need to go on (and talk about) why it was. There’s enough speculation about that. He lost the team’s loyalty, and he lost the loyalty of MS Dhoni. Once you do that, you’re very unlikely to be welcomed back”.

Suresh Raina’s absence from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction was perhaps one of the biggest surprises. Raina’s old employers, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who are known for buying numerous former players, have chosen to distance themselves from him.

According to earlier New Zealand cricketer turned analyst Simon Doull, this happened since Suresh Raina has eroded MS Dhoni’s loyalty. On the same day as Dhoni, Raina declared his worldwide retirement. With 5,528 runs over 205 matches, he is the 4th highest run-getter within IPL.

However, CSK has made a strong lineup by holding on to some of their proven performers in Dwayne Bravo, Robin Uthappa, Deepak Chahar, Ambati Rayudu.

MS Dhoni would lead the 4-time champions. The CSK management decided to keep Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Moeen Ali, and Ravindra Jadeja.
